Second Vibraphone Sonata (1999)
for solo vibraphone

PROGRAM NOTE
The Second Vibraphone Sonata was commissioned in 1999 by percussionist Tom Kolor. The work, lasting approximately six minutes, calls for quiet dynamics throughout. Because the work is scored for multiple lines (sometimes as many as four) on a single staff, the performer is required to employ many different dampening techniques (in addition to pedaling) to produce the specific durations of individual notes.
